Agreement to Terms
By installing, accessing, or using ClipRanker (the "Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use ClipRanker.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ClipRanker ("we," "us," or "our").
Description of Service
ClipRanker is a Chrome browser extension that:
- Reads publicly available video metadata from Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube pages you visit
- Sorts and filters that data locally in your browser
- Detects viral outliers based on engagement metrics
- Enables bulk download of videos and export of metadata to CSV
- Optionally provides AI transcription of video audio (Pro tier)
ClipRanker only processes data from pages you actively navigate to. It does not access private content or data behind authentication that you have not personally logged in to.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use ClipRanker. By using the Extension, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
User Accounts
Some features of ClipRanker require you to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your password
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at support@clipranker.com
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Subscriptions & Billing
Paid Plans
ClipRanker offers paid subscription plans with expanded scan limits and Pro features. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected).
Billing & Renewal
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled
- You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current paid period
- No refunds are issued for partial billing periods
- All prices are in USD and exclusive of applicable taxes
Payment Processing
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card information. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
Price Changes
We reserve the right to modify subscription prices. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any price change takes effect for existing subscribers.
Free Tier Limits
The free tier of ClipRanker includes limited monthly scan credits. Free tier limits are subject to change. We will not retroactively reduce limits without notice. Attempting to circumvent free tier limits (e.g., by creating multiple accounts) is prohibited and may result in account termination.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use ClipRanker only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use ClipRanker to download, distribute, or publish copyrighted content without authorization from the rights holder
- Use ClipRanker to scrape data for commercial resale, data brokerage, or competitive intelligence services without our written consent
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Extension beyond what is permitted by applicable law
- Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the platforms ClipRanker reads from (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) or our own infrastructure
- Use ClipRanker to collect personal data about individuals without their consent
- Automate or script ClipRanker interactions in a manner that violates platform terms
Important: Downloading videos you do not own or have rights to may violate copyright law and/or platform Terms of Service. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to download and use any content accessed through ClipRanker.
Platform Compliance
ClipRanker reads publicly available data displayed in your browser. However, using ClipRanker may implicate the Terms of Service of Instagram (Meta), TikTok, and YouTube (Google). You are solely responsible for complying with the terms of any third-party platforms you access while using ClipRanker.
ClipRanker makes no warranties that its use is permitted under any particular platform's terms. If a platform changes its terms or technical measures in a way that affects ClipRanker's functionality, we are not liable for any resulting loss of functionality.
Intellectual Property
ClipRanker and all associated software, design, trademarks, and content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any ClipRanker intellectual property.
Video content accessed through ClipRanker remains the intellectual property of its respective owners. ClipRanker does not claim ownership over any third-party content.
Disclaimers
ClipRanker is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The Extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses
- Scraped data will be complete, accurate, or up to date
- ClipRanker will function correctly after platform UI updates by Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube
- Downloaded content will be suitable for any particular purpose
We disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use ClipRanker.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or ClipRanker shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim, or $10 USD if you have not made any payments.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of:
- Your use of ClipRanker in violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights
- Your violation of any applicable laws or platform terms
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to ClipRanker at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, third parties, or our business.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@clipranker.com. Termination does not entitle you to a refund for any remaining subscription period.
Sections 9 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), 12 (Indemnification), and 14 (Governing Law) survive termination.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (such as via email or an in-extension notification). Continued use of ClipRanker after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
